I've been trying for months to create an image using the Vista Sysprep.
We use a simple unattend.xml file; but not matter what it crashes

I never had any problems using sysprep with XP, but this VISTA has m
banging my head on the desk! ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like this issue:

I never had any problems using sysprep with XP, but this VISTA has me

Thanks for responding. On the particular fix below, i applied the KB
put my unattend file in the c:\windows\system32\sysprep folder
Everytime i attempted to run the cmd (at elevated permissions) of

C:\windows\system32\sysprep\sysprep.exe /oobe /generaliz
/unattend:C:\windows\system32\sysprep\unattend.xml /shutdow

The sysprep crapped out indicating it could not locate or parse th

1) What edition are you trying to Sysprep? ( Ultimate, Enterprise, Home
Premium, etc)
2) did you create a new image?
3) What Gadgets do you have installed in SideShow which is failing? You
may want to try removing them

THE ONLY GADGETS RUNNING ARE THE CLOCK, SLIDE SHOW, AND VIE
HEADLINES...BUT THE HEADLINES IS NOT CONFIGURED TO ANYTHING YET

I WILL TRY REMOVING THEM

AND WILL LET YOU KNOW THE OUTCOME
